HEOC serve as the coordination center for organizing and managing information and resources related to emergency response and is the command center of the Ministry of Health and Population-Incident Command System (MoHP-ICS).
In addition to response activities, the HEOC also oversees preparedness and readiness activities at community, pre-hospital, hospital, and post-hospital level, such as development of plans and procedures along with intra- and inter-ministry coordination. It also coordinates with provinces and local level and other relevant stakeholders like health partners, donors, and humanitarian agencies. It further supports the strengthening of the network of hub and satellite hospitals, the Emergency Medical Teams (EMTs), emergency medical supplies, and Emergency Care System, and conduction of orientation, workshops, and trainings, among other things. Many of these activities have been carried out as part of MoHP’s disaster recovery efforts, contributing significantly to bolster our country’s health security.
